Used by Yemenis suffering from traumatic events and stressful situations, Khat has become increasingly common. Although it is a natural substance that is commonly available to many, the adverse health impacts can negatively impact physical and mental well-being. In fact, this plantcontains stimulants which can create a dependency for users. Cathinone, a stimulant substance found in khat, poses a variety of risks to its users. Side effects can include mood changes, hyperactivity, aggressiveness, anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, manic behavior,  heart attack, lung problems, liver damage, etc.
